General conditions

The contract comes into force upon registration (verbally, by telephone or online) and ends automatically after passing the practical driving test. Fahrschule Royal GmbH undertakes to provide the learner driver with faultless and proper training under the following conditions, which comply with the requirements of the Swiss Road Traffic Act for the admission of persons to road traffic.

Guarantee

The driving instructor providing the training is in possession of a driving instructor’s licence for the provision of commercial driving instruction and will provide the training in accordance with the latest methodological and didactic knowledge.
The conclusion of the training contract does not constitute a guarantee for obtaining the driving licence.

Vehicle

The lessons for practical driving instruction are given with a driving school vehicle equipped for this purpose (double pedals and driving instructor’s mirror). Exceptions are only possible by special arrangement. No reduction on the driving school price will be granted for lessons with a private vehicle. Exceptionally, a conventional vehicle may be used (service, breakdown, etc.). The service provided and the lesson price are not reduced for this reason.

Lesson duration

A single lesson lasts 45 minutes. A double lesson lasts 90 minutes. This time includes any instructions, explanations and final discussion. A valid learner’s permit must be carried during each lesson. Otherwise, the card must be collected at home. The time required for this is at the expense of the learner driver.

Booking of appointments

Appointments made verbally or in writing are binding. Appointment requests via e-mail or contact form on the website are only binding after telephone or written confirmation.

Cancellations, delays and absences:

Lessons must be cancelled at least 72 hours in advance by calling the driving school. SMS, Whatsapp, e-mails or messages via third parties cannot be accepted. In the event of late cancellation, the full price of the lesson or double lesson will be charged. In the event of illness or accident, the driving school may request a doctor’s certificate, which must be presented within 5 working days. Otherwise, these lessons may also be charged.

In the event of delays, the driving school must be informed immediately by telephone. The lost time will be charged to the student. If the driving instructor has not been informed of the delay, he/she is not obliged to wait longer after a maximum waiting time of 15 minutes. In this case, the lesson will also be charged at the full price.

In the event of non-appearance at the agreed appointment, the agreed time will be charged in full.

If an appointment cannot be kept by Fahrschule Royal GmbH, the driving school is entitled to postpone the appointment at short notice. The driving school will do everything in its power to inform the learner driver immediately, provided that the address and contact details provided enable the learner driver to be contacted promptly.

Prices

The offers of Fahrschule Royal GmbH are subject to change. Prices are subject to change. Unless otherwise agreed, the current prices at the time of the training shall apply. These can be seen on the website or social media.

Terms of payment

Single/double lessons are payable in cash immediately after the lesson. Subscriptions are to be paid in advance.
Driving lessons of a subscription that have not been redeemed after passing the driving test will be refunded. These will be added back to the price of the individual lesson. If the learner driver or the driving instructor discontinues the training or if the learner driver changes to another driving school, all unused lessons will be refunded minus a processing fee of CHF 50. Outstanding amounts are to be paid before the driving test. If the outstanding amounts have not been settled by the time of the driving test, the test will be postponed at the expense of the student.
The following costs are incurred for reminders: 1st reminder CHF 10.-, 2nd reminder CHF 30.-, 3rd reminder CHF 50.-. If payment is not made on time despite a reminder, the debt enforcement will be initiated at the latest after the 3rd reminder and an additional processing fee of CHF 200.- will be charged along with the enforcement costs. In addition, default interest of 5% per year will be charged on the amount owed. The deletion of the debt enforcement can be requested upon payment of a processing fee of CHF 300.- after settlement of all outstanding amounts.
A fee of CHF 5.- per invoice will be charged for invoices and bank transfers (additional expenses, bank/postage charges).

Vouchers

Vouchers are only valid with the signature of Fahrschule Royal GmbH. Forgeries will be prosecuted. Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. If the vouchers are not redeemed, they will not be paid out.

Fines

Fines which are clearly caused by gross negligence on the part of the learner driver shall be borne in full by the learner driver.

Alcohol, drugs and medication

The learner driver undertakes to comply with the legal requirements for driving a vehicle. If alcohol, drug abuse and/or the influence of medication is suspected or if there are doubts about the driving ability, Fahrschule Royal GmbH reserves the right to refuse or cancel the driving lesson. This will be charged in full.

Student driver insurance incl. administration fee

The learner driver is insured by the driving school during the practical and theoretical lessons as well as during the official practical driving test. Exceptions are journeys which are not carried out with vehicles of Fahrschule Royal GmbH. A one-time contribution towards expenses of CHF 150.- will be charged before the second driving lesson at the latest. The insurance reserves any warranty if the learner driver is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication or is overtired.

Data protection

Photos and video recordings made during driving lessons may be used, published and passed on for own advertising purposes. The driving school is entitled to keep, use and pass on personal data to third parties who have been commissioned to process the data and are bound by strict confidentiality.
